About Me

I am one of only a few Board Certified Specialists in Veterinary Behaviour Medicine, have been a veterinarian in general practice for over 25 years, and have owned and run my own practice for 15 of those years. This has provided me with a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of veterinary medicine and pet health.

I am also a pet owner so I understand how special the bonds and relationships are that we have with our pets and how difficult it can be when that relationship gets challenged or damaged.

I am extremely passionate about treating each patient as an individual and each patient-family dynamic as a unique entity.

I understand the complexity of Pet Behaviour Problems and I will help and support you through this journey by combining science and evidence with kindness, compassion and empathy.

My aim is to enable the best welfare outcome for everyone and for your pet to be the very best, happiest version of themselves.

Dr Katrin Jahn, DrMedVet, CertVA, MANZCVS (Veterinary Behaviour), DACVB, MRCVS

Testimonials

Chris & Sheena with Cody

We have Cody, a Dubai rescue, 2 years of age, reactive through fear. A nervous soul, but the genuine love of my life. We reached out whilst I was expecting our first baby as we were nervous as to how he would settle with our new addition to the household. I was honestly more worried about Cody than I was about my upcoming delivery. Previous “training” was done with Cody which left him more fearful, an absolute waste of time. Never before has anyone looked at him and his case in such an empathetic manner as Dr Katrin and her team. They are literally the only people properly qualified in animal behavior we have found. They have dedicated years to study these cases and you can tell. It has been five weeks since our initial consultation and our baby is now one month old. The changes in his reactivity and the confidence he has shown in himself has been magical and I am forever grateful to the team who treated Cody as one of their own.  You can tell how much they care and how much dogs mean to them.

Eileen Butler with Mutley

Finding out about Dr Katrin and her team has been the best thing that has happened for me and my canine companion! Mutley was very anxious and was developing aggressive traits towards some people. I was at my wit's end, upset and very worried about my beautiful boy. From many honest and open conversations and observations, Dr Katrin was able unpack his body language (and mine!) and guide me towards understanding his body language and triggers. She shared strategies for me to deal with any potential triggers and stress points. As a result of this, and with much patience and time, Mutley is becoming a more confident, happy and calm boy. The results so far have been amazing, and I know that I can always reach out to Dr. Katrin for advice and support.

Rona with Millie

Dr. Katrin gave a voice to my anxious, other-cat-hating, litter-box-avoiding cat and helped me to see, understand and change. I was in a state of despair before meeting Dr. Katrin and now I have an ally, who is incredibly generous with her time and attention, and who equips me – on many levels – to manage and handle what was once a very problematic pet!

Thalia & Marcus with George, Milly, Lillu and LJ

With a household of 4 cats, we wanted to have a behaviour consultation to ensure a calm environment. Dr Katrin helped us to pinpoint triggers, leading to aggressive behaviour and put in place measures to reduce such behaviour. Within a few days we noticed a difference, with less aggression and a more relaxed atmosphere. This continued to improve further as time passed.

Kate & Tati

My dog, Tati, is anxious. Alarmingly so! I was advised to visit Dr. Katrin and I turned up almost as anxious as the dog! Dr. Katrin is working with me to unpick Tati’s anxieties and to teach me to understand his body language. There is a lot to learn!

Tati is taking medication to overcome his anxiety and I am so grateful to see him slowly become more confident and less anxious. There is some way to go yet, it has only been 6 weeks, but the advice from Dr. Katrin has allowed small victories to occur. The playing of classical, calming music has been a triumph!

I also appreciate the fact that Dr. Katrin has made time for me in and out of office hours, giving me reassurance when it feels rather overwhelming.

Alex & Noelle with Sunday

We were so pleased with the improvement to Sunday’s quality of life following her behavioural diagnosis and treatment. We had previously tried a number of other things to try and treat Sunday’s anxiety and finally saw results once she was on medication.

Natasha with Spokie & Leila

Spokie (it means little ghost in Afrikaans) was a feral cat which I rescued from a basement parking garage. She was very aggressive and soon I realized that I was out of my depth with how to handle her. I would many times wonder if I made the right decision. I was referred to Dr Katrin and told that she would be able to evaluate Spokie and give some advice. It was life changing!! With Dr Katrin’s guidance, I started understanding Spokie’s cues of when to touch and when not to. I read her body language and now understand when she is in a good mood or when I should rather leave her alone. Dr Katrin made suggestions on how to rearrange the room so that Spokie could get to places where she could calm down and hide if she needed to. She’s receiving medication which is managing her extreme anxiety and I am even able to touch her, she sits on my lap and she loves playing, something I never thought I would see.
